Twinkly Leeds

Before we went to our food tasting extravaganza, the DQ and I had a little look around Leeds.  As a Sheffielder, I am not supposed to say I like Leeds, and there are some aspects of it that I really don't like, but it does have the edge over Sheffield when it comes to shops.

There are lots of very lovely little old arcades dotted about.
And the Victoria Quarter is very very lovely.  It has gorgeous lanes to wander around in.
This arcade is already twinkling in its Christmas finery.

Many of the shops are only for window shopping though!!!

And then of course, there is Harvey Nichols!  This is as close as I was allowed to get to it though!!

Yes, some lovely shops in Leeds but, as you say, most are for window shopping. It does look lovely.

I like Leeds city centre too, the Victorian arcades are beautiful, and I don't mind fondling all the merchandise I would/could never buy in Harvey Nichols! xxx

When we lived in York, and before Violet was born, I worked in Leeds and would often have a wonder to that pretty arcade near Harvey Nics. There used to be a Charbonnel & Walker shop in it(which are my all time favourite chocolates). xx

I agree even though i love Sheffield, it always seems to play second fiddle to its peers

My daughter has always like shopping in Leeds - something I've never done as my visits there have been to do family history research in the library. After looking at your photos I think I'm going to suggest an outing to Leeds between now nd Christmas!

Love those arcades! Boodle-am was my favourite shop - their Osh Kosh dungarees and kickers pumps were my favourite 1970s maternity-wear. Happy days!
