My latest obsession

One of my favourite coffee shops in Sheffield is Tamper Coffee (who are opening a bigger shop soon!).  The last time I was in, I noticed that they used "souvenier spoons" for their coffee spoons - the type you used to bring your Granny back holiday.  I promised the guy that I would keep my eye out for some for him - and he promised me a free coffee in return.  Whilst on holiday, we visited Tankerton in Kent which was a fab little town and had some great charity shops on its High Street - and I came across this great little stash!  I couldn't resist them.

They are all quite old and have beautiful and individual spoons attached to them.
My favourite is the Delft style shoes from Holland - so sweet.
I love them and I don't think I can let them go.

Old spoons are so interesting. I have a big bag full that I don't know what to do with but I like to look at them. They were passed down to me by my husband's family. Thanks for sharing your collection.

I have another friend that collects spoons, I managed to get her one during the Queens Diamond Jubilee.
A great thing to collect, after all, spoons are all over the World. :)
Have a great week,
Tammy

Oh my goodness - so familiar, but long forgotten. Sometimes they could be a bit 'tacky' I recall? But this selection is so pretty Diane, don't think I would be able to part with them either! x

I have a small collection of spoons. I have a delft one where the pottery bit is in the bowl of the spoon, really pretty. There's some really unusual ones around. I think it's a great idea for the coffee shop to use these type of spoons, a real talking point.

I don't think I could part with those either even for a free coffee!:)

Did one spoon = 1 coffee in the deal? If you keep them, that's quite a few coffees D!
They are nice to use though, shame to keep in a display and not use them do think you will use them or just adore them?

I'd keep them too. You can always find something else for the coffee shop.

Those are so pretty, it would be a shame to let any of them go for a coffee, after all the coffee won't last but the spoons will.

A lot of people collect that kind of stuff. Everyone collects one thing or another, and you collect spoons. Pretty cool. I say everyone needs a hobby. That's awesome. Some of those look like they have some kind of military insignia or something on them :D Very pretty :o

You know, I see lots of these spoons as I do the rounds of the chazzas and Chesterfield market. If I take some in, do you think I'll get a free coffee too? (Don't want to spoil your deal, though!) The Delft clogs are lovely! xxx
