They have refurbished them into condos and lofts. A family member now lives in a condo in a refurbished church that had been abandoned. I wasn't sure what to expect but it is wonderful.Mary Ann Tatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06064111648107079739noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7602197958070805605.post-43301642878579431662012-04-08T09:27:59.160+01:002012-04-08T09:27:59.160+01:00Such beautiful buildings - what a waste. He had to design things like washing machines that had a limited life span. Gone are the days where we nursed our machines along for twenty years or more. Sad.

Great field trip. Much the same thing is happening here in Stoke. It is good that you are photographing industrial buildings before they disappear completely:)Rosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04733563829902335223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7602197958070805605.post-87090202384379890202012-04-07T17:32:57.233+01:002012-04-07T17:32:57.233+01:00The jobs the people who worked in those buildings ...The jobs the people who worked in those buildings had gave them a pride and a purpose. I remember when every weekday between 4 and 5 pm you would see all the men rushing to get their buses home from the factories and the plantworks. Most of them laughing and joking. No jobs for them now. So very sad.
Carol xxCarolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10811673280675153792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7602197958070805605.post-11516432016890884902012-04-07T15:02:36.922+01:002012-04-07T15:02:36.922+01:00It's so sad to see the buildings in such a sta...It's so sad to see the buildings in such a state, especially when it isn't that long ago that they were being used to their full potential.
