Hues of blues & greens

My favourite colours are blues and greens - especially together. My living room is blue and green, and so are most of the things I have planted in the garden (nature has thrown a few freebies my way that are certainly not in keeping with the theme though!!).

I love the lavender against the garage door

The white roses look perfect this year

The delphiniums are much better than last year when they almost all got eaten by slugs. I think a combination of wine corks, resident hungry toads (yes, he found a friend!!! there are now two of them) and evening slug hunts are paying off this year.
The Hosta was from my grandads garden. I split it into three this year and its never looked so good!

This time of year is my favourite in the garden - especially when the weather is hot, and I don't have to move out of it.

  2. Another Hosta lover here too. Mine thrive in pots. I do, however, have to succumb to the little blue pellets........ we have such a severe problem with snails and slugs.

  3. Those delphiniums are a gorgeous blue! And I love hostas. We don't seem to have had so many slugs and snails this year - do you think the cold winter has had something to do with it?

Your flowers are looking beautiful - that rose looks perfect, I love that stage between bud and a full bloom.

  7. I need some delfs, I used to have some. I think the cold winter has done wonders for the blooms this year.

I like purples and whites best, though I am trying new colours, and I like them!

  8. Well I'm pleased to hear that Mr Toad has found a friend - you'll have to think about that pond extension now:) I love blues and greens too - also white and lavender coloured flowers. I'm envious of your delphiniums - I've tried to grow them but never succeed - isn't it wonderful to sit in the garden until late in the evening?
