I love beachcombing. As you know, I am a "womble" and am forever finding "rubbish" to bring home. My favourite part of the day in St Ives, was when the tide was low and hubby and I could go for a walk to find treasure. Apart from the heart shaped pebbles, everything else that we found was "rubbish - sea glass, pottery, broken bouys etc. All of it was transformed by the sea into treasure. I thought the lovely blue nuggets that Carolyn had made for me when perfectly with the collection. It looks lovely when the candle glows at night.
Oh ! how I would love to be walking on a cornish beach and then stopping for tea and a scone .--cottonreel
ReplyDeleteWhat a top idea, and a little something to remind you where your heart is!
ReplyDeleteThat is a brilliant idea! Now I just need a beach.........
ReplyDeleteA much nicer holiday momento than one of those hideous shell ornaments made to look like disfigured animals!

What a great 'souvenir'.
ReplyDeleteMy last labrador (Eliza) had Wombling traits. If I walked her after a football match on a Sunday morning, she'd run around and bring me all their disgarded drinks bottles. I was like a litter warden clearing up after folk who couldn't be arsed to chuck their rubbish into the nearest bin.
ReplyDeleteI might have to steal this great idea of yours.
bit late diane but just wanted to say how fab you looked for your girls night out!
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great idea - just imagine what a posh homeshop would charge :)
ReplyDeleteI love to find all the boshed up bits of glass on the beach - you can find some amazing colours.
