Winter Solstice Lunar Eclipse

Quite magical considering this happened last above 400 years ago.

Watched from my bed with a nice early morning cuppa.

  1. Lucky you, we are in a valley here so the moon was too low in the sky for me to see and it was cloudy too:(

  5. I couldn't see it from my house so at 7.30ish this morn me and Milo walked to the end of the street and stood in the hospital car park watching it . It was -9 and bloomin freezing - but worth it :-)

  6. Great pic, well done. I woke a lot last night, but didn't see the eclipse. It was a very light night, because of the snow. Days get longer now though :)

  10. On a workday I would just be arriving at work and might have seen it but, I was in bed, fast asleep!
Thanks for the card by the way!
I'm trying not to feel too guilty about not sending cards this year, mostly due to finances!
It will be recycled with respect!

    Happy Winter Solstace!

  16. How wonderful! We looked out but it was too cloudy here to see it. Although we didn't see the moon as we travelled east towards Nottingham this morning the sun looked so unusual both in colour and size:)

  18. I couldn't see it from here - and couldn't bring myself to brave the cold that early and go out seeking it. Will make do with your nice photo.

  19. As usual I didn't hear anything about it till after the event! On the radio it said "twenty minutes ago ..." What's the point of that? I was listening the day before and they hadn't said a thing then! Thanks for showing us your gorgeous picture. At least someone's on the ball!

    Merry Christmas to you!
