A bad idea!

I have been "de-cluttering" my house - very unsuccesfully for the last few years. I am a hoarder. So why did I think it would be a good idea to organise the WI "Vintage and Homemade" Stall? I am like a kid in a sweet shop whenever someone gives me a box for the stall.

I think I shall be buying the green tea service!

And if hubby asks, I have had it yonks!

  2. Good one Diane. I would have done just the same - too beautiful to miss out on - life is too short not to have a green tea service don't you think.

  13. The green tea service is very pretty but the rose one reminds me of my childhood - it is so familiar but I can't remember which of my relatives used to serve tea in those cups:)

  19. Haha, I am so glad to hear I am not the only one giving evasive answers to questions about how long we have had certain things in the house...

Interesting "travel reports" below, and those Birmingham Back to Back houses look like a place to try to visit if in the area!

Hope you are enjoying the lovely spring weather and wish you a great weekend,

  20. I'm the same, especially with crockery. I was heard to mutter as I prepared tea on Easter Sunday "I'm running out of plates" to which the mister responded "You have got to be joking".

  28. I have always loved green porcelain (and yellow porcelain, too, but it has to be the right shades of green and yellow, of course!) I first fell in love with these two shades when I visited the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford many years ago and in there, there was a room devoted to someone's collection of Royal Worcestershire porcelain, and the hues were so vibrant the room looked like it was bathed in sunlight. I've never forgotten that moment and loved the green and yellow ground porcelain most of all, even though most people assiciate Royal Worcester porcelain with a particular shade of very dark inky blue. Not so keen on the rose china in the box but I'd toss a coin with you for the green!
