We had been invited to a wedding reception on Saturday on the East Yorkshire Coast at Whitby. I know that you all love a trip to the seaside, so come along and wander with me. We managed a fabulous day and the weather was great!
Whitby is a gorgeous place.
Another place on my want to visit list. I bet the camera was stuck to your hand all day! Lovely photos. Hope the wedding went well too.

ReplyDeleteHaven't been to Whitby for years but it's place I like. Did you climb all those steps to the church?
ReplyDeleteI love Whitby. We were there in March and I blogged about it. It is a small world

Thanks I was there 20something years ago, I stayed at the YHA near the Abby. Such a lovely place.
ReplyDeleteSo that's where you put people who are having arguments we don't want to hear! Let's build one for the politicians. I don't think I can stand our electioneering until November. But WHITBY -- just the place to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the seaside or walk off a few pounds up all those steps. I have never been to the abbey though I have been to Whitby many times. It must have been all those steps that put me off.
ReplyDeleteoh i REMEMBER those long steps up to the church!
ReplyDeleteI love Whitby! Did you climb the 199 steps? Bet you had a great time:)
ReplyDeleteWhitby has special significance for NZers because of the Captain Cook connection. I enjoyed ambling there for a couple of days in winter years ago. I especially remember that my pyjamas matched the bed cover in the hotel!
ReplyDeleteEnglish seaside at it's best - we used to spend holidays in a caravan at Flamborough Head, crabbing and sheltering from the rain...Whitby seemed quite exotic by comparison! x
ReplyDeleteWe visited Whitby years ago - I loved it, especially the Abbey - very atmospheric!
ReplyDeleteSee you in two weeks time - off on our hols!
I love Whitby, and how lucky for it not to have rained while you were there with the weather we're having.
