Keeping Busy

Ive made a couple of felt owls to go on the Christmas tree. I knitted them a scarf each to keep the cold out.

And I finally got around to making the cushion covers too.
I also have a massive order for jars of Chilli Jam from the Dancing Queen and her Uni friends. Apparently it goes very well with Dorritos!
Being snowed in can make you quite productive!
We have also been out and cleared our cul-de-sac with a few of the neighbours. It was very hard work, but we adopted a wartime spirit and had a good laugh too. Things picked up greatly when one of the neighbours came out with hot coffee and Jack Daniels!!!
The house is like a new pin! Its been "fettled" to within an inch of its life. I'm exhausted and ready to go back to work for a rest!

  2. aww the little cold owls!

    Lovely cushion.

I made some of that Chilli jam on your recommendation and it is yum. I only made two pots so I'm keeping them both myself but I've had a few requests for next year's batch.

  3. Love your little owls Diane - it's a very good job you knit them a scarf each, we wouldn't want them to freeze to death in the weather.

Your new cushions are looking great too - you have been productive haven't you?

I love having a good clean up and clear out - I always feel so cleansed afterwards.

  18. You are a great treasure Diane~ thank you so so much for keeping us warm in your thoughts ~ I think it worked you know!
Being a Northern lass myself I am able to withstand great excesses of cold, ( Think Big Market, Saturday nights mid '80's. Coats were definately not de rigeur!)

Christmas shopping in York on the shambles with chestnuts keeping our hands warm, still no coat!

Thank goodness for a bit Wallace and Gromit style ingenuity, we have temporary heating, hallelujah!

  20. You are just the MOST industrious of bloggers! When we lived outside of Washington, DC in the 1980's we were snowed in by three consective snow storms...two full weeks off school (we were teaching at the time). My house was clean and neat and we had "shoveling" parties with the neighbors after each new storm. Fun!

  22. How come you've managed to achieve so much and I've done so little? Actually, I've done nothing. Too busy oohing and aahing at all this snow.
