Many thanks for all your good wishes. We had an excellent walk with the kids on our anniversary and we have plans for a romantic couple of days away in a couple of months time when the young man is on a field trip with school.
I spotted this carousel in Barkers Pool, Sheffield on Thursday when the dancing queen and I hit the sales - it was doing a great job in brightening things up as the weather is now dire! I think all towns and city's should have a carousel - like they do in France. There is something really cheery about them .
I haven't seen a carousel for years - I used to love fun fairs - the loud music and the excitement - some of which goes missing as you get older. Lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteAll the best for 2012!

I love the carousel. The weather is certainly dire today - so wet and grey! Glad you had a super anniversary day. Happy New year to you and yours:)
ReplyDeleteThat is a super picture for cheering up a very dull, grey and wet day.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
A carousel usually visits Leeds with the German market at Christmas time. All the best for a happy and healthy 2012.
ReplyDeleteNice and cheery passed it the other day when out shopping with K. The one thing I don't care for much is (actually at all) is fairground organs. Oh the hours i spent listening to one of those when I worked in a bank in Peterborough - tortune - ha like my typo gonna leave it. It was right outside the window and it went on and on and on. Oh bit like me. HNY.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy and healthy new year with lots of love and laughter xxxx
ReplyDeleteThey are marvellous pieces of machinery aren't they .... I love the old fairground organs too ... haven't seen either for years. Happy New Year
ReplyDeleteGlorious photo. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!!
ReplyDeleteAnother year almost over...how fast was that!?

You got a really nice shot of that carousel! The colors are great, and the photo is really sharp. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary and thanks for your lovely comments on my birthday, you made me laugh! Heather x
ReplyDeleteI think you should start a campaign for carousels!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your lovely family. Lots of love.

Glad you had a good day
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too :) Hope you have a good one!
Dear Diane,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary - what a wonderful post about it and about that lucky husband of yours!
Thank you for all your kind comments throughout this year - every one much appreciated! As for the camp site, I had to google it, as - for once - it was not I who had booked it, and I therefore did not have the visual details of the name in mind... but I am sure I found it here: http://www.southpenquite.co.uk/
It is quite a way away from Padstow, but it was a lovely farm, run by a sweet family. It had very clean toilet and shower blocks and even music gently playing in loudspeakers in the toilet blocks! They allow open fires, which is why my camp happy camper man chose it, despite it being a bit of a drive to the beach. The beaches around Padstow are gorgeous, and I really like Padstow itself too, despite its obvious tourist character.
Please let me know if there is any other information you think I might be able to help you with.
I wish you and you family a fabulous New Year!
Love,
Helena
Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best for 2012. Jx
ReplyDeleteHey Diane, have been away from blogger for way to long, missed your anniversary, looks like you've been having a lovely time! The carousel is wonderful! Where could we put one in St. Ives?? Thank you for your card, I failed miserably this year and didn't send a single one, although I did phone and speak to everyone. My heart wasn't really in it this year although I made sure everyone had a good time (as you do!). Heres hoping for a better time in 2012, love to you and your family hope to see you in August. Wishing you a very Happy New Year!! xxxx
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you all, hope 2012 is good for you.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. That carousel is truly lovely and would lift your spirits.
