The Nativity

Ive always been lucky because my kids have never argued or fallen out much. But one thing that has set them off each year is "Who arranged the Nativity scene last year". They refuse to share this task as each has their own distinct ideas of how it should look. Last year, fed up with his bossy big sister always winning the argument, the young man decided to create his own stable and scene using his favorite creative medium - LEGO. Its so brilliant that it has become part of the trimmings now.

If you look closely, you will see that Yoda plays the part of baby Jesus, with Hermione Grainger and Harry Potter playing Mary and Joseph. One of the 3 Kings is riding a 3 headed dog. There are little treasure chests full of gifts.

Along with the box full of all the glittery decs made each year at nursery and school, this will take pride of place - on the TV table for many years to come.

I love the lego nativity - so does my 11 year old who's peaking over my shoulder. Think you've given him ideas now!

I think this is inspired & I'll show my son later who will be amused I know.

Maybe Darth Vader could play King Herod ?

Sweet baby Yoda looks like he's been starved of oxygen !

That is one of the most sincere Christmas decorations I've ever seen. We can all learn something from your son.

Hi Diane, I absolutely love the lego nativity, as did B1 when I showed him.

Simply brilliant and certainly small and perfectly formed treasure.

Or as Yoda himself would say ‘Size matters not….Look at me. Judge me by size do you?’ …………..Sorry I’ve had a glass of champagne ;P

PS the insomnia is from PTA STRESS (totally ridiculous to wake up at two in the morning worrying about raffles) and that too shall pass - after school breaks up :)

Dear Diane
I adore LEGO ! And I cannot think of a more wonderful nativity display than this - the three headed dog is just glorious! How wonderful.
Thank you for my birthday wishes!

Yay! You can't beat Lego. I never had any as a child, but I was in my element on Saturday creating my snowman, Xmas Tree and Xmas present. There was also a Postbox and a Santa sleigh, but Violet pulled them apart before I had chance to photograph them.
Love your son's nativity scene and the fact that Yoda is the Baby Jesus. "Mmmm, Jesus I am. Presents you bring".
