Some of you know that the Dancing Queens first year at Uni did not quite go to plan. A series of unfortunate events left her feeling lonely and fairly depressed across in Salford, so she took matters into her own hands and orchestrated a move to another university to finish her course. She presented the move to us as a "fait accompli " with her accomodation sorted and everything in place to start the new year at a different university.
She will still be able to keep her weekend job here at home by travelling home on the train at weekends, but this week we went to fetch her so that her brother could see where she will be and have a look around.
Fingers crossed that she will settle better this year. For all our sakes!!

I hope the DQ will have a fantastic year at the new uni/flat!

What seems a lifetime ago now, we too experienced how unhappy our children could be at Uni, though both stayed at their original places. If asked now I know one of them might have wished they were brave enough and determined enough to improve things. I wish the DQ all the very best and hope that now she will experience what should be one of the most exciting times of her life. x
The best of luck to her. I do hope she settles in well at her new University, top marks to her for taking it all in hand. It was obviously meant to be.
I hope the DQ settles down. first year's at Uni can be so depressing - nothing is ever quite what you expected, and being away from home can be very unsettling - even to those who can't wait to get away!!
Every good wish to her for her years there.
Wishing DQ a fabulous year.

Well done DQ for sorting it out on on her own - I still remember the shock when daughter number 2 announced she was suspending studies for the rest of the year and then was going to repeat the year. Thankfully it all turned out for the best!
Hope it goes well for DQ.
That was a brave move of hers. Hope all goes well now.
Wishing DQ all the best for this year.
A very brave move which I hope will bring her a much happier situation.

Fingers crossed - it isn't much fun when you miss home and the new place isn't working out. It is good that she has taken the bull by the horns though and sorted things out for herself - that is brave to do as well! xxx
She sounds pretty capable to get it all organized for herself, so I am sure that she will do well - the best of luck to her.

Well done to your daughter. May I congratulate her on her excellent choice of city, although the lure of the social scene might clash with the home weekend job!
I hope she settles in better at the new uni and has a good year.
I hope the second year is much happier than the first! Your daughter sounds very determined, so I'm sure it will all go well in the end. It's a worrying time for us parents isn't it. My son is so far away, I just hope he settles well!

Wishing her well. Isn't life tough for youngsters these days...I think so.
Much love.
Oh Diane - fingers crossed although this sounds so much more positive. And given she has the determination to take things into her own hands I feel sure that this year will be much happier - which is also much more conducive to effective study!
It is always a good sign of growing-up and independence when young people take the lead and make their own arrangements. It sounds as though she is happy with her choice.

Well done to her for changing things, wish her the best of luck! x
I hope this year is much happier for her and that she settles in quickly. My cousin's daughter is at the same uni, though she's living at home to save the pennies.
A brave move to have made! best wishes for this year! Cx
