On Sunday, Hubby and I took a very windy walk around the park and lake at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Ive taken you here before. The wide open parkland lends itself well to big sculptures, but today we had come for the walk and not the art.
We spotted some of natures art work....
They have now made a walk right way around the lake - we have earmarked this walk for Christmas week. Today, we were climbing the hills.
I thought I would produce my own art work - imaginative I think.
Once we reached the top of the hill, we could towards the old Woolley Colliery - one of the Barnsley Coal mines now no longer used. As you can see, Mother Nature is claiming this back. It used to have a huge winding wheel and massive coal washing sheds, but nothing now remains.
Ive seen this Andy Goldsworthy piece before, but never realised that there are three of these, side by side. Where have I been looking!!!
This chap had a lovely woolly coat on to protect him from the biting wind. He needed it.
This structure was new and quite effective in the large space. I love the rust on it.
We had a great walk - just what we needed to blow the cobwebs away.

We planned a walk too but I absolutely hate wind and it was so cold we decided against that and visited Macclesfield Treacle Market instead, which was nice!
I really must make an effort to visit YSP next year!
Interesting place, I do like the way the trees are taking over.
The pits in Wales have mostly disappeared too and the slag heaps now grow grass.
Your walk looks very good but I would hate to be out in the wind.
Every time you show the YSP,I realise I've got to go and see it for myself. Maybe next year!!! It was darn windy by us on Saturday too! No leaves left anywhere.
Have a good week!

It was very windy yesterday here too so in the end we decided not to walk. It does look a wondeerful place and well worth a visit - we must get there next year:)
We've had a lot of wind too here on the island -- but it's a warm wind compared to yours. It certainly cools the weather down for us. Not as many people in the pool. Barry was sitting on the balcony making notes when a sudden gust came and blew them away. Since we're on the second floor he had to make a mad dash downstairs and managed to retrieve them all. The TV says the Hawaii winter's big surf is up so we may just take a drive to see if there are any spectacular waves at the north end of the island.
I forgot to say that I love that kind of large sculpture and your photos are wonderful.
I don't often find time to comment these days but I'm loving your posts. Great photos from YSP. It's a wonderful place for a good walk, wish I lived a bit nearer. And what a treasure trove you unearthed yesterday. How things have changed.
Great photos, looks like you had a nice time.
It looks a lovely sunny day even if it was windy. Great photos.
I love the row of chairs - a perfect metaphor for this season of Advent when our heads spin away into a pre-Christmas stress.

I still haven't managed to make it to the Yorkshire Sclupture Park, I must make more of an effort as I've enjoyed each of your posts about it. There's very few leaves left on the trees now that the wind's been at them.
You are good to brave the cold wind to walk. But what a great place to walk with entertainment on the way. Your art effort was very good too.
