Vintage Tag Tuesday (on Thursday!)

Here is my attempt at a vintage tag for TAG TUESDAY

Made with items from my Mama's (Grandma's) button box. I love the way nothing was ever thrown away (note the old hooks from a pink bra!) - this must be where I get it from!

Like it especially as it's from your Mama's buttn tin. I have my nan's tin and my mum's oh and my good friends MiL's and I really do treasure them. Enjoy the rest of your week. Doing a couple of full weeks at TH after half term so will have to meet up for a natter.

I too have stuff my mum collected and I'm like her collect stuff that I'll probably never use. I'm not into crafts like you . A fun tag.

You must have enjoyed making this tag as it enabled you to have a rummage through the button box. I remember my mum having a button tin with similar things in, hooks and eyes, press studs, and all manner of buttons. I loved looking through it when I was little.

Love the pics you put on here. Your blog rules!!

BTW, thanks 4 the cool comment on my post about The Rolling Stones. IDK why, but I just adore their music 4 some reason. As far as I'm concerned, I don't think their music will ever get old. And hopefully, someday I wanna see them in concert. I heard they are planning a 2012 tour, so maybe this will be a chance 4 me to see them? I'm kinda glad I listen to them, makes them the one band my mom don't like, lol. And plus, it cracks my mom up when I say that Mick Jagger still looks good after all these years. And I don't care what people say, The Stones rock!! Although, my former high school classmates are convinced that Mick Jagger is homosexual because of the way he dressed in the 1970s and how he shakes his hips on stage now and how he dances.

I have a whole cake tin of buttons inherited from my mother, I must see what I can do with them. I just need that extra room so I can sew and paint without having to put everything away!!!!! t'other Diane

I was brought up to save things too and its no bad thing. However I have stopped keeping the wrappers from blocks of butter. My Gran used to keep them to grease cake tins and I was embarrassed when a friend asked me what I was doing when she saw me fold one up and put it in the fridge.

Love it. I've got Mum's buttons and some were originally her Mum's.
Thank you for your kind comment yesterday, I really appreciated it.

it means much more when the vintage things we use are from you own family past.

That was a great idea for a vintage tag! It must mean a lot to you.
My Grandma had a tin of bits and bobs too. I used to love playing with the buttons. I have no idea what happened to it - isn't that sad!

Like Kathy I have happy memories of playing on the rug in front of the fire range in Grandma's house I used to get in the drawers of her treadle sewing machine and get out all the ribbons, elastic and darning wool and I loved her button box:)
