Frozen Lakes

We dare not wander far today as the weather people are forecasting bad snow. So we took ourselves off for a walk around the upper and lower lakes at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Blue skies soon turned to watery sunshine and it was as bitterly cold as it looks.

Even a brisk walk didn't warm us up much and we had plenty of layers on.

They have only recently opened up the walk around the lakes and so it was great to see some of the follies and wildlife previously well hidden.
Just as we finished our walk, the snow began to fall so we headed back to the car with very rosy cheeks.
I feel as if I should be doing something constructive, but hubby has his feet up watching the rugby and I feel like doing absolutely nothing. Hope you are all safe and warm. xxx

I think it is cold just about everywhere at the minute, we now have snow and it is sticking. I am not happy about it, it kept me indoors for so long last winter.

A good few inches have fallen here and no sign of it letting up yet. You did well to get out for a walk, it's so cold today.

Pretty little walk - you can feel the winter through those photos! Glad I'm indoors right now...snow is coming!!! In the supermarket today it was busy and I overheard someone say it was not normally like this - hoarding mentality has kicked in!!! xxx

It's been bitterly cold hasn't it? It started to snow while I was up on Blackamoor this afternoon and like you when I got home I felt like doing precisely nothing - so that's exactly what I've done:)

I must go to YSP. I say that every time you go there!!!
I haven't ventured out at all today .... we've had foul sleety rain all day, but no snow yet!
I've been making tags for Tag Tuesday, and faffing around on the laptop!

I'm glad I'm back home in my summertime. English December was cold enough for me, though my children were disappointed that it didn't snow then. Lovely evocative photos :-)

We've got a few inches and it's stopped snowing now. Much as I love to see (and play in it), it'll suit me just fine if that's all we get, I got a bit fed up of it last Winter.

Lovely photos Diane. It's been sunny but very cold today here in Essex but just looked out and it's now snowing heavily.

You are brave going out for a walk in those temperatures. I would be staying in the warm house. Its good to just do nothing once in a while.

It's very cold here and while I feel like I should do something constructive, I know I'm going to stay holed up here with my computer and hot water bottle! A walk might be nice (gorgeous blue sky) but hot chocolate is nicer!

I had much the same kind of day, a walk and then knitting in front of the rugby. I too felt I should be doing something more useful particularly when I found a mistake and had to rip back all I'd done. Winter, who needs it.

Lovely photos! Looks like an interesting walk. We dashed out yesterday and got back just before the first flakes of snow started to fall. Going nowhere today even though I'd love to get out for a walk:)

Hubby here did the same - I was in and out the house, freezing up then thawing out, then chilling out in front of logburner. x Cathy

Goodness me it looked so cold by the water in those top photos!
Hope you are warm now and that there isn't too much snow.
