A Romantic Saunter

With only a couple of hours to spare on a rainy Sunday afternoon, Hubby and I decided go go for a walk in the rain around the grounds of Wortley Hall. Wortley Hall is a hotel these days, and whilst the gardens are not strictly open to the public, there are signs around saying they do not mind members of the public wandering around if they are considerate.

What a fabulous Yew tree.

The gardens are looking lovely at the moment, the planting is a little bit different this year.

The gates around the gardens leading to the parkland and the hall are a bit special too.

I love the flowers, our irises are coming into flower but they're not nearly as pretty as those.

All those gates and railings are very grand.

p.s re-our port which was a conversation from ages ago, it's mainly cargo, but it's also hugely popular with cruise liner companies.

Those gates are fabulous - I wish I could get my hubby to come round a garden - he'd only enjoy it if it was floating. We did go round Exbury Gadens on Mothering Sunday but it was cold & nothing blooming & we didn't stay long. I guess he thought, " I rest my case ! "

Diane,

As ever, gorgeous. gorgeous photos and a fantasticly lovely place.
I missed you and your blog, have been so rushed off my feet with one thing and another that I did not take time to either blog or read blogs. It is a shame, I will start posting again at some point soon.
Your last comment on my last post made me giggle , I wish is all I can say ( about the first part, not the neglecting my blogging friends part).
Take care,

Caroline
