Time on my hands

Too often I find myself at weekends without a hubby as he has to work. Now that I have a modicum of freedom (the young man would rather organise his own weekends, but there is invariably a lift required at some stage!) Ive decided to stop moaning about it and organise some "me" time. On Sunday I took myself off to Sheffield to buy a ticket for an event that is on one of these weekend days. I generally park at Meadowhall and ride in on the tram. Its easier and far cheaper than parking in the city. The Tram system is really easy with only 2 lines to choose from. I indulged in one of my favourite pastimes - people watching. Two lovely ladies across from me where recalling memories of all the times they have been to Gracelands to visit the home of Elvis. One of them then produced a catalogue and they were choosing posh dresses for imaginary nights out to venues that no longer exist! It was hilarious.

I got off outside the Cathedral. It was such a dull overcast day. The letterbox really stood out.

I may use this photograph in some of my cards. If I glitter it up, it will make a great Christmas Card.

I'll show you more of my roamings later.

What a fabulous postbox and I've never even noticed it. Must have a look for it next time I'm in town.

That sounds like a great idea. Sometimes we don't see the opportunities among the chores!. Hope you manage to fit in lots of 'me' times. I am so surrounded by family at the present, any time on my own becomes an adventure.
Great photo, You are right it will maks a super card.

I wish the public transport in Leeds was as good. Unfortunately, every time I decide to use it, it's late, totally unreliable. The photo will make a great card. You should return and take another photo when there's snow around, it would look very festive.

You could scatter snow on it too.

I've yet to ride on a Sheffield tram ...

Great photo, on the rare occasions I catch a bus, I love listening to other folks conversations :) I haven't been on a tram for years. Will have to take Twiglet to Sheffield so we can go for a ride !!

Those ladies had the right idea - I may start up a travel club to indulge myself!

Trams are a brilliant way to travel I haven't any nearby sadly.

Glad you found time to do something nice, it's so important,

Yes, that image would look lovely on a card! I rarely get the tram unless I really have to. They always seem so crowded!
It was lovely to see you at the weekend and to be able to put a face to the name! Sorry if I seemed a little shocked, I had just been sent to clean the shop.... I hate doing that, especially on a Sunday morning! hehe x

Good idea to have outings just for you. Love the post box and it would make a super card. I love overhearing conversations on buses or trains - people can be so witty and funny - you can hear some weird things too though:)
