Last weekend was agony for the boys at the Heartshaped house. The "local derby" Sheffield Wednesday Vs Sheffield United - and they had tickets. Their team (Sheffield Wednesday) are facing relegation (this happens on a regular basis these days I'm afraid), and my cries of "Its only a game" don't seem to make things any better! Any way, whilst they went off to watch the game (which ended in a 1-1 draw, not the best result but it could have been worse!), I took myself off to the garden centre for a walk around the walled garden.

These filled the air with a fabulous scent.

I have some of these in my garden, but I don't know what they are called.

Its such a sheltered spot that the Rhododendrons are out here now.

I was even brave enough to enter the bear pit on my own.

Its very dark in here. I did manage to scare another lady who had ventured in on her own.

I love reading your posts about Sheffield as that is where my son lives. He went there as a student and never came home. In August he is marrying a local girl he met at uni. They both work in schools there, Joe as a pastoral leader and Emma as 2nd in dept in English. I love them both so much so its great to read about and see photos of the area they live in.
Thanks
Viv

I have to ask! Which garden centre is this? If vit has a walled garden it sounds as though it would be worth a visit. Commiserations on the Sheff Wed situation, we are Blades in this house but I always like to see both Sheffield teams doing well unless they are playing each other when I'm very biased indeed:)

Lovely shots and such pretty flowers. Like you I often see things that are in my garden but haven't a clue what they're called. Not that it matters if you like them!

I have just stumbled upon your blog and I am in love! I recognise this place all too well, Wentworth garden centre! I love it there! I am a South Yorkshire girl too but my favourite place in the world is St Ives, I am off there in 6 weeks... counting the days!
