Today,
I have discovered a little piece of St Ives - but only a mile away from where I live in South Yorkshire. The Clare White Gallery is housed in the lovely setting at the
Elsecar Heritage centre near
Wentworth.
Apparently the owner is as fond of St Ives as I am, and this is the result of his passion.
The gallery is really lovely with art work by artists from St Ives, other parts of Cornwall as well as a few local bits and bobs. As well as art, they have some lovely individual pieces of pottery,
jewellery and bags. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
I loved the pieces made from beach finds!!!
The lovely lady who was the co-owner has popped me on the mailing list and said she will invite me to the next preview evening - glass of wine and a
shufty at the new goodies type of a do - so if you are local, and you fancy a
bloggy meet up, then let me know and you can be my "plus one".
If you do visit the gallery, you may like to know that next door but one is a very lovely Cup Cake shop - the lemon ones I highly
recommend!!

Looks a great gallery, wish I lived closer:) Those cup cakes look wonderful!
Hi Diane, it's a small world! Andy (who runs the Clare White gallery with his wife, Steph) has just visited St Ives to collect more artwork so there will be lots more to see soon, including three of my seascapes.
The cupcakes look delicious. Best wishes, Lesley
What a shame Diane I am not local I would have loved to have been your 'plus one'. I assume shufty means a look at. Enjoy your week-end.

Diane, I have not been around to read your blog well I have but my computer died (stealing time on Hubby's work one at the moment!)
Im not ignoring you!

Looks good, especially the cakes, wished I lived nearer x
i thought of you on our holls as we all looked for heart shaped pebbles to give to each other...no luck though....
Lovely post - not sure I'm close enough to take up your invitation - will have to have a cyber visit!
You should teach us how to get some many freebies!!!
Have a great Sunday xxxxxxxxxxx
Oooh, who wouldn't be inspired by St Ives? Lovely looking gallery (and cupcakes!!).
If it's any consolation re the post above...my ironing pile is much larger...!
I have heard of this little gallery, but never actually been! It looks very tempting (as do the cupcakes) and Im also tempted to say please add my name to the pot of 'plus one' - it would certainly be a nice way to spend an evening, meeting you and seeing all that scrummy art!
Much love

Hi Diane, the gallery looks good. So when you get your yearning for St. Ives you can go there to get your fix! next best thing i spose!! x x x
What a fabulous idea for a shop and lucky you having a little bit of your favourite place handy for when you need cheering up :o)
I also wanted to say about your ironing pile ... ironing ... what's that? I don't do ANY! I have a long suffering hubby ;o). Also discovered that as soon as the weather is nice enough for hanging washing on the lines it seems it's also a nice day for some folk to light bonfires around here. I think we need some "friends" down here to sort out the bonfire lighters
Bye for now xoxo
Email me. Let me know the exact dates you are coming down so we can try and sort out a bloggy meet. Unfortunately, there isn't a cupcake shop yet in St. Ives but I'm sure someone will think of it soon and we won't be short of treats!
xoxoxo
ps. thanks for message. I'm having a very tricky time right now, but will all be worth it in the end, keep smiling :o)
