Bodkin at Cusworth Hall

What a lovely weekend it has been here in Yorkshire. I love it when the sun shines. We've not been very far all weekend, but today we ventured over to Doncaster to Cusworth Hall. I'll show you my photos of our walk later, but on arriving at the hall I discovered a brand new shop - only opened yesterday and just the sort we bloggy ladies love. Bodkin will only be open on at the weekends, but if you are in the area, do pop in. It is situated in what looks as if it would have been part of the "workings" of the old house ie the bit where you and I would have worked "below stairs", and as an added bonus, it is right next to the tea shop.

I explained to the lovely ladies that I had a blog, and they let me take some photos. Come and have a look what they sell.
The fabrics they use for their bags are gorgeous and they have all different styles. They also sell painted furniture, cards, vintage clothing etc.

And lots of heart shapes!
Its a great little shop and the items are priced to please the tight Yorkshire man - or Yorkshire lady! So pop along and say hello if you are in the area.

Hi would love to meet up and will def make your stall at the WI - I remember one of my babysitters making us cake mixture to eat - no intention of cooking it - and I promptly threw up - bet I wouldn;t now. My girls always ask for the wisks from the hand mixer and they call them lollipops. (I didnt let them when they were really little - just in case you think I am too bonkers).

Yes, you are right, it looks just the sort of shop I would enjoy spending a good deal of time, and probably money, in. Shame I live too far away to drop in for a mooch around.

Ah, wouldn't I love to check it out! Long swim, though, and it's still cool outside! So tell us...did you buy anything? Something heart shaped, maybe?

I think you could do business with this shop. Next time you go, you should take some samples (or pictures) of the lovely things you have made, I really think they would be interested. Before you know it you'll be doing mass production for Harrods! No seriously I'm not kidding. I think your WI stall could be a good test for you. Please take a photo of your stall once its all set up. I bet it will look great. Don't forget to make your rag-doll pj-holder! xx
