Derwent Dam

It is my favourite time of the year for walking in the Derwent Valley around the Dam.  Come with me and enjoy the beautiful autumnal colours.

Dublin

The young man is doing a year in industry as part of his Uni course and is spending the year in Southern Ireland.  So hubby and I jumped at the chance of a weekend away to visit him.

So after an exceptionally early start on Friday morning, we flew across to the Emerald Isle.  I have to admit that it had never been on my radar as a place to visit, but I am so glad we did.  We had a great weekend.
As the young man didn't finish work until later that afternoon, we decided to explore a little ourselves and found some gorgeous little working harbours and cafes on the beaches serving fabulous food.

On Saturday, the young man gave us a great tour of Dublin.  We walked and walked!

The city is buzzing and very alive.  It was great to walk around and soak up the tremendous atmosphere, history and culture of this fantastic little city

I discovered my new favourite shop - Avoca.  The don't have any in the UK sadly but I hope that changes!  The sell fantastic clothes, accessories, books, "stuff", food and they also have an amazing cafe.  We visited a couple of their places over the weekend and were highly impressed.

On Sunday, we took off to Wicklow and had breakfast by the side of a lake and hills before heading to the coast.

The weekend was over too quickly and we were soon making plans to return (I couldn't gauge the young man's level of enthusiasm for my plans!!).  We dropped him off at work on Monday morning and treated ourselves to another morning by the coast before we dropped off our hire car and catching our flight home.

I can't wait to go back.

Angels

I spotted an Angel in the sky - can you see it?
