Ive finished all my shopping and wrapping. The decorations are up and I'm trying hard not to drink all the wine before the main event!
Hubby and I made the most of the brief time that we had together this afternoon (the rubbish night shift weekend!) and went for a walk to find a few sprigs of holly.
This was real winter sun.
With all the colour stripped from the countryside, the bracken made the scene look slightly sepia tinted.

I stayed at my Mums in Cawthorne last night and forgot to take my camera which was a great shame as this morning really was pretty.
You'll have to let me know what you think of the book, I've not started mine yet as I still had a few Philippa Gregorys to get through.

Especially love the last two photos! And it does look fiercely cold!
Yes, in answer to your query re: the cilantro...fresh corriander is what you would use. Thanks for your comment on my blog. we've had so much fun with that train set. My husbands grandfather always had it around his tree, and we do it every year. Lately we've been adding too many "little touches" as we have a very small space for it each year!
Love the patterns in the icy puddles! C

How come you have those beautiful colours we have nothing but white everywhere!! Love the icy puddles. Diane
brrrr, I can almost feel the cold from your photographs! I went out to Bakewell today but the cold was almost unbearable! x
Looks bracing (and a reason for a glass of that wine!) I just adore the last shot.
That first photo is so beautiful. A landscape as I love it.
No snow yet this time round (well, a flurry or two yesterday, but that's all) but I'm hoping!
Stay warm!

Brr - it does look very cold but very beautiful; glad you were able to snatch a few precious moments looking for holly before work intervened.I'm at that nearly ready stage now - thank goodness - just a few presents to wrap and the tree to decorate - maybe tomorrow:)
We had snow last night, it's very icy and pretty now. We haven't been out all day - how cosy !!

That's my favourite carol. Lovely photos you've shown us Diane but it looks cold so I hope your man appreciates that 'hot' woman later!!! x

Lovely pictures, especially that last one.
Your photos show just how cold it is at the moment. We've only had a sprinkling of snow here but it won't go as it's just too cold.
ooh I love the last two pics !
I did my decorations yesterday & feel a bit more like Chriristmas. Out with friends for a turkey super & crackers tonight and lots of wine - Jess is driving us !
Fabulous pictures, sometimes being a hard northern woman (thats what john calls us as he's from soggy Wales) has its advantages when we can appreciate beautiful the beautiful landscapes that are all around us here. xxx
