Let me get you in a festive mood. Every year, the church in my village holds a Christmas tree festival. Community groups in the village each have a tree to decorate on a theme. The theme this year was "Village Carols" as the village has some Christmas Carols that are unique to them. The next couple of photos are out of sync as I forgot to add them, and then couldn't move them!!!

My WI had a nice evening making the decorations for our tree which had the impossible themed carol "The Prodigal Son"!! Try decorating your tree with this theme!!!!

I thought you would like to see my efforts. I photocopied a £5 note, cut them up and then "glittered" them. Very retro and slightly "Sex Pistols"!

Right - back to the start!

The church is very pretty and really lovely inside. It is warm and is fully carpeted!

As you can see, Mary & Joseph have started their long trek to Bethlehem. This gets replaced in a couple of weeks time with a stable. Baby Jesus only appears in the manger after the Christingle service on Christmas Eve.

The children from the Infant and Junior school had decorated this one.

There are around 25 trees in total and it looks and smells spectacular when you walk through the door.

I love the way that all the decorations are "made". The tree's are sponsored by local businesses, created by the individual community groups, and dedicated in memory of loved ones that are no longer with us. You can also hang a tag on one tree in memory of your loved ones. I left one in memory of my dear Mother in Law - then blubbed around the last half of the festival.

I spent ages looking at every decoration. I was also given a cup of tea and a mince pie too.

My favourite decoration had to be this one. I can't remember what carol it was supposed to be, and I couldn't begin to make an educated guess! But this is what happens when you ask 8 year old girls to interpret a Christmas Carol into a tree dec - well done the Brownies! Bet you never thought you'd see Fergie and Will-I-am adorn a Christmas tree!
