A Rainy Day in Manchester!

What a chock-a-block weekend I have had!! Saturday was really exciting as I had a double bloggy blind date arranged.
Off I trotted to Manchester - as you may have heard, it always rains in Manchester, and not just spits and spots, but biblical proportions!!

I met up with the very lovely Lyn from Everyday life, who was sporting a very fetching elfin style hairdo! Now this wasn't quite a blind date, as Lyn and I have met up before, but we had never met.....

the equally very lovely Kathy from Postcards from the Perfect Peninsular.
Lyn had organised afternoon tea for us at a very swish hotel. We ate the butties, and most of the scones, but had to bring the cake home in boxes as we just gassed so much that they didnt get eaten!!!!

We also got waved at by very young looking sailors!!!! How outrageous!

After our tea, we walked across to the Manchester Central venue where they were holding a stitchcraft fair. It was so lovely to shop for crafty type supplies with like minded people. We stroked fabric, and lusted after ribbon and buttons. The ladies talked me down from the Patchwork stall, but nothing could stop me buying gorgeous beads! Oh no! not another crafting hobby!

We all ended up buying the same lovely Tilda book - seduced by the summer Angel on the cover. We decided that the race was on - first one to recreate her!! (she may end up not looking quite as lovely!!).

Then we had to part to go home. Thanks girls, you were great company - you honestly could not wish to meet 2 nicer ladies.
After a bit of a sprint to the railway station, I managed to catch an earlier train than I thought I would - which was a good job, as shortly after, a landslide caused trains between Sheffield and Manchester to stop running - and they are still not running as I write!!
Once home, I opened up my goodies that Lyn and Kathy had brought for me - and I loved them. What a truly wonderful world Blogland is.
What a perfect day, Friendship, cake and crafting inspiration.
