Sunset through the Wicker Arches

I couldn't resist snapping this beautiful sunset as we went into Sheffield on Friday evening. I took it from the car as we drove under the famous (in these parts), but sadly very neglected Wicker Arches. (There's an advert currently on local radio stating that they are not made of "Wicker"!)
Red sky at night - Shepherds delight (or shepherds house is on fire according to hubby!).
It certainly got rid of the snow - quickest thaw I have ever seen, but there is still a tiny pile in my front garden and my old grandad used to say that if it doesn't all go, there is always another lot on the way. He was never wrong. I'm stocked up waiting for the next batch!

Thank goodness it's gone! I do hope that is the last we have before Christmas (although I fear not!)
The pictures are beautiful :)

Gorgeous photos. I can't believe how quickly the snow has disappeared, there was so much of it too. We've got icy roads and pavements this morning though, looks like the cold weather is here to stay.

Beautiful photos - and you must have very clean car windows, or you rolled them sown!! ;)

We can't see the sunsets much here, but we do have lovely dawns!

There was obviously something going on in Yorkshire on Friday - we had a absolutely unbelievable sunset on Friday too here in Hull!

It's not melting everything here fast enough for my liking - I almost had to get on my hands and knees yesterday morning just to get to the top of the street!

Wonderful sunset photograph.
It was a very fast thaw, can't quite believe how quickly it went. We too have a small pile remaining and I shall be stocking up ready for the wintry return at the end of the week.

Beautiful red sky. We had a clump of snow left on the trampoline - I'd like a bit more - just a bit would be nice !

Sorry I would comment on the sunset, but I'm still giggling over you and the tree...
Right concentrate Rosie! Lovely sunset, saw a bit of it when I came out of Hobbycraft, over Forgemasters, which looked great as the building was all in silhouette. That thaw was pretty quick, was it really windy where you are on friday night, it was raging here. Looks like thursday is the day for more snow, which is pretty typical as I am off to see Simply Red at the arena.
Pretty bracelet too!

Great photos, Diane! We too are stocking up this week incase of more bad weather. For some reason as I get older I'm anxious about walking in snow and ice - it never used to bother me, lol:)
