My daughter knew that this was here as she had emailed the artist to ask for an interview but he declined as he is fairly anonymous, but I don't think many people know where this is as the wall is blank from the road.
I thinks its stunning and such a shame that it will only be temporary.Edited to add (due to the anonymous comment) that you have to really know where this is to find it, and the grafitti isn't visible from the road. You have to scramble through a fence and hill to view it. However, I think its stunning.

Gross and ugly. I hate the fact that people think they can force others to view the ugliness that goes on inside their own heads. Thank goodness it is going to be demolished. What an eye sore.

I value everybody's opinion which is why I allow Anonymous comments, but am saddened when someone feels that they cannot leave their name.
It is very detailed and interesting and better than looking at a derelict building. What is it done with?Is it grey Paint?
It reminds me of the work of some of the Surrealist painters like Magritte; although it isn't my cup of tea subject wise I can appreciate the intricacies of the work that has gone into creating it. It is all very striking. Thank goodness you have photographed it for posterity before it disappears:)

Wow, whether or not anyone approves of / likes the subject matter, what great talent to be able to create such detailed drawings on this scale...Sheffield's version of Banksy! Hope you had a lovely Easter Diane, sounds like you got out quite a bit. I have just emerged back in Blogland after a few hectic days with family staying! xx

That is one VERY clever artist? I wonder what he does for the day job? If he has one, that is. Graffiti (or art, as it should be called) like that would take a lot of time.

It's amazing and the artist is very very talented, although I can completely understand why there will be some who don't approve of the venue, I am always in two minds about art displayed like this, but I don't think this art should come under the graffiti heading. His art really does deserve a worthy place to be admired.
It must have taken ages to paint - and so skilfully - it wouldn't have looked anywhere near as good if it was done small scale - I think covering up an ugly old building can only be a bonus.
I'm beginning to understand Graffiti more now just as every generation has had " new art " thrust at them - now classics worth a fortune !!!
