So how do you pick somewhere to stay for a romantic few days away? I chose the Wiveton Bell for hubby and I from the first few words of the description of our room - "Farrow and Ball Palette"!!!! To be fair, most of North Norfolk is painted in Farrow and Ball Palette.
I chose our bed room because it was the cheapest (I know - true Yorkshire woman!) as we weren't intending much time in it unless we were asleep. It was gorgeous and really comfortable and warm. A proper little love nest.
Hubby loves me for many reasons, but I was particularly in favour when we first got to our accommodation on Monday afternoon and produced a walk I had found on the internet which we could do from our pub, taking in about 7 real ale pubs along the way. So off we went.
The first one was in gorgeous Blakeney.
We had lunch at one of the aforementioned pubs.
Then we decided to walk over the marshes to Cley. The marshes are fascinating and we saw so many different types of birds - Curlews, Oyster Catchers, Redshanks.
They are also totally peaceful - something that we relished.
Then in Cley we partook in our second pub stop.
As we sat outside the 3rd (and final - we are lightweights ) pub on the village green, we realised it was only 5.30pm on a Monday afternoon and here we were sinking a pint or 2!! Hubby commented that this is what chavs do of a Monday afternoon!
Find me a shell suit I say!

I think I'd never find my way back after only 1 stop/pub! ...beer is not for sissies!!!

My favourite county (well, I love Suffolk too) there are such beautiful places to see and huge sky too. So glad that you feel rested.
Thanks for your comment on mine. Went to the Photography class today and learnt all about aperture and depth of field - sometimes I get things and sometimes I just don't! Hopefully, it will all come together in time. We visited Norfolk 6 years ago - you make me want to go back!

Great accommodation and nothing better than a walk with plenty of pubs en route. Pity it was a romantic weekend or I would have joined you :-) Take care t'other Diane
What a wonderful vacation, lovely post, lovely photos!
Your accommodation sounds fantastic... I'd love to spend a few days there!
Your room looks so lovely, and what a great walk to find, great photos.
It's a lovely part of the world - and it looks like you had a great place to stay!

Your accommodation and the scenery look fantastic, and walking from pub to pub is a great motivator (if only because you need a wee!) I have never been to Norfolk, I think I need to rectify that! xxx
Brilliant! I was looking for somewhere lovely to stay in Norfolk. Thank you!
Great accommodation, food and walks. Who could ask for anything more?!
Your room looks wonderful and how great to have breakfast to your door every morning! I love that area around Blakeney, Morston and Cley (we have a painting of Morston Quay on our living room wall). The walk sounds fab especially with all the wonderful pub stops along the way and all those interesting birds to spot:)
It looks wonderful. It must seem strange to be taking these kind of breaks now after years of having kids with you. We'll be at that stage soon.
Your lovely photos took me right back to our last holiday there! I love Blakeney, and Cley marshes are great! And the mud with birds, and the harbour and...... oh everything!
Not met that wonderful baker, though! he sounds a real treasure!
I love the photos. They look so romantic. That bed and breakfast place is so cute. I love things like that, simple country charm. Simple and romantic is the way I would go. I love the photos. Too beautiful!!
You picked a real gem of a place to stay! I love the look of the room, really cosy. And the breakfast delivery sounds just so perfect.
Just the thing you both needed, with a couple of pints thrown in for good measure!
