Time on my hands

On Saturday, I needed to be in Sheffield very early.  Hubby dropped me off really early, and so I had about an hours worth of window shopping before any one else arrived in town!   I loved this very retro bar - where could I put it in my house!! I've been catching up on box sets 1-5 of "Mad Men" lately and am having a love affair with all things 1960's at the moment.

This newish shop on Chapel Walk is like Etsy - but in shop form.

I managed to nosy into buildings that are normally off limits

And I got to have a little look into the town hall

And then later that evening, I joined some friends to watch the New Jersey Nights show at the Lyceum - which was fantastic and transported me back to the 1960's and 70's with the fabulous music of Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons - Oh what a night! Catch it if you can. xx

Those shots of the staircase are fantastic! And that bar! I can remember in the 1960's we used to see a couple of magazines, one was called "Practical Householder" can't remember the other one's name, but they gave instructions for making bars like that - ready to fit into your sitting room or whatever! No MDF then- all plywood, steamed to bend, and put laminate on. Really hard work for something that was often just naff!
