Anglesey Adventures

The young man is part way through a lengthy project with his University degree on the island of Anglesey just off Wales.  As he and his friend are fending for themselves, hubby and I thought we would use the opportunity to slip in a camping few days to visit somewhere we had never been - and feed the young man at the same time

We were blessed with great weather (although chilly at night).
The island is geologically fascinating (hence his project) and when we met up with him each evening, he took great pleasure in explaining every rock formation to us.
We also found lots of explanations dotted around the coast.
We had a really relaxing few days.  The scenery is stunning and the beaches vast and empty.

We did lots of walking and exploring.

We met up each evening to feed the duo.  We managed to include an impromptu beach BBQ which was great fun and possibly our best meal of few days.  Great company, great catching games and some stunning rock pooling!

We even found a ship wreck.  This vessel was wrecked in October 1959 and plenty of it still remains to be seen today.

We really enjoyed our few days in Wales.  We shall definitely visit Anglesey again.

We visited Anglesey a number of years ago and thought it was a beautiful place. Great to have a geologist in the family.

I confess that I'm not a great fan of Anglesey though I love the other side of the Menai Strait. Glad you had a good time though.

We love Anglesey and try to visit each time we go that way, some of the beaches are stunning but we always end up at the mill to buy flour, the art gallery in Llangefni is wonderful full of historic displays and local art. Your photos are wonderful, Diane - glad you had a great time:)

Looks wonderful, Diane. Glad you enjoyed yourselves and helped ensure your boy eats! Although I've never visited, I follow 'Anglesey Social Media' on Twitter and it looks a beautiful place. Lesley x

Younger daughter who studied Geology at Portsmouth also did her project on Anglesey! Thought of you today as we drove back home through the Peak District!

What a great getaway. It was nice of your son to choose to study in such a lovely place. I'm sure he picked it just so you would have the perfect holiday destination! ;)

I did visit Anglesey as a kid, but I can't say I remember much about it... Probably got bored, and didn't appreciate how stunning it is! Gorgeous pics, as ever, Diane. xxx
