I'm almost ready - in fact, if it doesn't arrive soon the sherry will be all gone! The kids are as excitable as ever - even though they are 19 and 16 years old! I don't know if its my age, but a couple of Christmas cards have arrived bearing sad news from people we don't see from one year to the next. This has made me determined to make more effort keep in touch with friends that we have "let slip". It has also made me determined to focus much more on what we "have" and not hanker after things we "want" but really don't need. Other cards have made me laugh. The one that arrived "to" someone different on the inside to the address on the envelope, and the one that arrived yesterday with no writing at all on the inside - so its not just me then!!! We only ever have a simple Christmas - it suits us just fine.
I have a mission to complete tomorrow, then its all "eat, drink & be merry" hopefully. xx

have a lovely Christmas di and Gaz.......thank you for the card....
enjoy your time at home x
I think simple is best. Have a great Christmas.
Christmas does this, doesn't it? I looked for the card that is always the first to plop on our mat in the first week of December.... it finally arrived yesterday and I breathed a sigh of relief that the senders were still alive and well. Have a great one with you and yours. X
Have a great time. Only the two of us, but I guess we can still eat, drink and get merry! Diane
Yes, those cards with no message....... end up trying to identify the writing. I've a couple of cards I always wonder whether or not they will arrive, one is from a lady who was my Mum's bridesmaid, the other is a lady I 'swapped' plants with 20 years ago, we've never met but exchange cards and news.
Don't forget to save some of that sherry for the trifle!

We always have a simple Christmas too ... just the 4 of us.
My mum regularly sends cards without signing them, sometimes she doesn't even put stamps on!!!
The saddest cards we have this year only have one name on, instead of two. Makes us very aware we need to make the most of life!
Enjoy your preparations!

Happy Christmas! Sadly Mum died in the run up to Christmas last year and so no cards. This year its quite a relief not to send cards but messages to those who matter.
I have sent two cards to at least two people....so no its not just you!
Have Fun

Ha Ha I laughted at the card with no inside name. I have received 2 cards for the same person. They were different cards and a couple of weeks apart. They thought of us twice.
Merry Christmas
Helen xx
Hi Diane,
Thanks for the lovely christmas card, love it! Is it all fabric? Only I want to use it in a wall hanging I'm intending to make.
Some of the pics from your last post would make great cards for next year eh?
Here's hoping you'll have more than sherry 'fumes' to toast on the day or new year's eve hic!
Have a great Christmas and a happy new year!
Hugs,
Sandie xx
I have a bottle of Sloe Gin fizz in the fridge which I am so keen to try, will keep it for Christmas lunch, I hope!
Happy Christmas to you all.

Mick finishes work today and then we can all really get in the Christmas spirit. There are a couple of cards which are sadly missing this year and another with only one name instead of two.
What lovely sentiments, Diane. We do simple too! We've had two cards from one couple of friends, one we couldn't read the writing on but by process of elimination have identified and one for this year and next year from another friend. We also have three cards from one person instead of two this year. I've decided I don't need anything material this year - I just want my health and those I love around me. Merry Christmas to you and yours.xx:)
I'm pretty much there too though it will be a quiet Christmas for us with just my daughter here this year.
Like you we shall eat, drink and be merry though - Happy Christmas!
It looks as though you had a wonderful time. Love the photos. I think I'll check out the Colours. Sound interesting indeed. Have a happy Christmas!!
WOW! Not only did you manage to find SUN in Blackpool, but you took some amazing shots too!
And that trans-Pennine rail trip is fantastic ins't it? So beautiful, and so isolated (well apart from the bits at either end!)
