The area of East Yorkshire where we camped last weekend provided much inspiration for the artist David Hockney.
The workers cottages are well kept in Sledmere and their own gardens a delight.
We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break out in East Yorkshire and the weather was very very kind to us - as you can tell.
On our return to the campsite on Saturday evening, we seemed to chase a storm that had gone before us - making the sunset on Garrowby Hill very spectacular.
My appetite is whetted and I can't wait for my next camping trip.

Glad you had nice weather for your camping trip. The area is very pretty.I love the patchwork countryside and the seaside shots.
Is that photo of the village street Flamborough? it certainly looks like it. As for David Hockney, his brother, Paul used to live on the Headland near the lighthouse. We know them quite well and have enjoyed many hours visiting many times. I love David Hockney's paintings of the wolds. Incidentally, East Yorkshire is often drier than other parts of Britain. I think the clouds dump all their rain before they reach the coast!
I love those beach photos!.
Looks fab, glad the weather was good!

lovely pictures - lovely area the Wolds. I was in Bridlinton/Sewerby this weekend - didn't bump into Mr. Hockney but thoroughly loved the area and its countryside feel.
Lovely images Diane, especially the carved door with the metal work.
