With the young man away with college, hubby and I had planned a camping weekend away. But the weather man was not optimistic of good weather, and as much as I love my tent, the thought of a very wet weekend in a tent did not appeal. But I didn't want the weather to ruin our plans, and whilst trawling UK Campsites website, I found the ideal solution. One email confirmed that this superb little "Love Shack" was indeed free for the weekend, and so I booked it and off we set.
It was absolutely brilliant. Definately Camping for wimps! It had a sofa bed in it, plus electric and a TV/DVD player - luxury!!! The little ladies below ensured that we had fresh eggs for breakfast each day.
We didn't have to travel too far, the campsite was near Pocklington East Yorkshire, near to Stamford Bridge. Reading this made me realise how easy a time our current Monarch has!
The campsite was empty. The weather forecast had obviously put everyone off. However, I can honestly say that not a drop of rain fell on our campsite and the porch of the Love Shack was really sheltered and great to sit out on - infact this morning we realised that the only thing we hadn't brought was sun cream - and we needed it. It was the most peaceful place on earth.
Whilst out this way, I decided to visit a very special place that holds a very special place in one of my followers heart. I'll show you more later, but can you guess where it is?

Oh yes!!! I know EXACTLY where that is! Thank you so much for thinking of me! I can hardly wait to see the other photos. I will alert my sister who lives in Toronto as she is as crazy about Flamborough as I am. Those shacks look like a wonderful idea, especially because of the UK's unpredictable weather.
All that rain must have done quite a bit of erosion. I'm sure there wasn't a cave that went through to the next bay when I was last there. I'll have to check my photos.
By the way, our Best Man from 52 years ago still lives in Pocklington.
I would definitely like this kind of camping. What fun

Paul's aunty and uncle used to live in Pocklington before they moved to Scarborough. I remember going to their 25th wedding anniversary party there. Glad you had a super, rain-free time:)

That's a cute cabin. And those chickens were so cute!!!! I'd love to do camping like that. Maybe not the DVD player, but camping in general!

Your camping weekend looks wonderful. I have only spent one night with my husband in a tent and he said never again! Maybe he can be persuaded if it like yours! I like the chickens too!
