This weeks walk was around part of the route of last years Tour de France. Watching the tour on TV, many people couldn't believe how beautiful (and hilly) the countryside of South Yorkshire is - the ones that don't read my blog obviously as you lot are used to me banging on how spectacular my home turf is. We started off in Worrall and walked over to the beautiful village of Bradfield. The large building in the field is a Convent which is still used to this day.
The series of dams out here were built by the Victorians to supply Sheffield's increasing population with clean water.
It did start out a very grey day, but we spotted this ray of light breaking through the clouds - it did look very spectacular.
Quite a few of the decorations from the Tour still can be found along the way. Yet another great walk.
I found a blog I'd like to share with you. It's a bit different - a very charming record of social history from a teenage boys eye view in the mid 197o's. Take a read and see what you think. It has me in stictches.

The ray of light photo is very dramatic. You clearly have a great time with your walking group. I hope that I will be able to do something similar when I have a little more time next year. Jx
I like the different effects you're using on your photos.
Another good walk with plenty to see.
