Simple Pleasures

Simple pleasures were plentiful in my garden on Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed remembering finding these pebbles in Whitstable last August.

I enjoyed finding just enough chives,

to sprinkle over my potato salad.

I really enjoyed the Forsythia in bloom, with the honeysuckle in bud behind it, and the blue sky behind that!

And I loved finding the apple blossom buds,

and realising that it won't be long before some flowers will be in full bloom.

My garden and the sunshine feeds my soul.

Spring is my favourite time of the year, the colours muted and gorgeous. Sunshine and the garden feed my soul too.

It was lovely here yesterday wasn't it. Love the strung up pebbles, I too have a love of anything from the beach and always collect a little something from each holiday to remember it :)

Just had a good old catch up on your posts, loved the proper office tale, poor Joan! I'm feeling a bit sick though after following your vintage mag link as I got rid of several years worth of Vogues a while back and realise now I should have tried to get something for them. Oh well ...

Have a lovely week xx

It's lovely to see some blue sky again, and all those buds with their promise of what's to come.

An exciting season for the northern hemisphere. Do the pebbles have holes in them? They look neat.

It was nice enough to spend quite a while in the garden yesterday. I love your string of pebbles what a great holiday memory. To answer your question over on my last post - no I don't know the author - she e-mailed me afer she'd read my blog and seen from my booklist that I'd read another of her books last year. Have a happy week:)

Those first two photos could have been taken from my yard as I have my hagstones hanging above the chives which have suddenly burst from the ground. I thought all the snow would have killed them. It's still pretty cold though isn't it?

My neighbours have a forsythia bush but it was trimmed too close in the autumn so it's hardly flowering. Pity, as they're so cheery.

Hello Diane!
Sorry for being such a bad bloggy friend lately, I've just stopped by for wishing you a happy Women's Day (since you adopted me, you must get used to Italian weird habits!)
I'm very curious to see your kitchen completed!
