St Ives Blends

One of the highlights of my holiday was meeting up with my "Blends" (Bloggy Friends) who are lucky enough to live in St Ives. We couldn't get a table outside the cafe, so we huddled into a corner. I'm looking a bit sorry for myself in the corner as I was not well. I had slept solidly for 24 hours on the previous day after picking up some nasty stomach bug - I hope I didnt pass it on ladies! Great way to come home from holiday with no weight gain though!!!

You may remember that I had met the amazingly inspiring Carolyn Saxby last year (front right) and I had also popped into Lesley Ninnes (front left) wonderful gallery too last year, but it was the first time that I had met Noelle (back left). Noelle was the one who inspired and cajoled me into starting a blog and left me my very first comment - so it was brilliant to meet up with her at last. It was a lovely meet up and something that I know will happen again next year!! Thank you lovely ladies for your great company. You are another reason why I should move to St Ives!!! After our cuppa and cake (dried toasted tea cake for my dodgy stomach!), Carolyn, Noelle and I did a bit of treasure hunting on the beach - I'll show you this later, but I can't wait to see what Carolyn makes from the 2 x shoe soles she found!!

We exchanged Bloggy gifts.

I know that many of you love Noelles work and I was the lucky recipient of my own Cornish Cottage, complete with pesky Seagull and a boat to go bobbin around the harbour in. Several of my pals have tried to make off with the seagull!!!
Carolyn's work is so delicate - I don't know how she does it. She gave me a lovely gardening heart - you can just see the little trowel dangling from the bottom. The photo does not do it justice. Also, the card is a work of art! and the colours are amazing. She also made me some of her special beads, but I just noticed that I didnt get them in the photo - I'll show you these later, but thee too are amazing.
Lesley presented us all with 4 cards made from her original art work. Too gorgeous to send - these will be framed and hung in my home. I was never a huge fan of abstract art before I met Lesley, but she has opened my eyes and mind and I love it now - another great bonus to blogging. Her work translates the scenes on St Ives shores and harbour exactly. She has amazing talent and the colour pallette she uses is very unique.

Thanks again ladies for such a special morning - its was great. xxx

Thank YOU Diane, because it was great to meet up again (wouldn't have missed it for the world)and to receive your lovely, creative gifts. Will post about them soon, promise!

Don't know if you have managed to visit the Clare White Gallery recently? Unfortunately, Andy and Steph have reluctantly decided to close - last day of business is 26 June. Bye for now, Lesley. x

You had some lovely gifts in your goody bags - what a shame that you were ill while you were away, no fun at any time but especially horrid while you're on holiday.

How lovely to have met up with your bloggy friends on holiday, such a shame you had a tummy bug though. Your gifts are wonderful, I love the 'Harbour, Low Tide' card and I agree, far too nice to use.

Sounds idyllic (apart from being ill). Nice to see faces to put to names on their blogs, which I read regularly. Carolyn is an inspiration isn't she!
