Breaking Hearts

Of course, sharing my affections in the early 1970's was Donny Osmond. David and Donny made falling in love look and sound so happy and appealing - one line of the song goes "No broken hearts for us ..." and yet Donny broke my heart every time he sang!!

Ive been to see Donny and the Osmonds a couple of times in recent years, and he is still a beautiful boy! At one concert, he stopped by the end of our row - grabbed my sisters hand hand and sang "If" to her! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!!!! She was a Little Jimmy fan!

Hi Diane
Oh I love your musical posts! I was in love with Donny - such a beautiful boy with a beautiful voice! Your sister certainly has me feeling envious.
Talking of sisters, my sister Sue, was a David Cassidy fan and Donny was for me... of course in that special way, we couldn't possibly admit to each liking the other. I used to tease her by calling him "David Custardy" ...!! Of course, I always liked David's songs too - only now I can admit it!
What fun this series is - I can't wait to see who's up next!
Happy days,
Denise x

Have to admit to being a David Cassidy fan ... had a whole bedroom wall devoted to him and mum found a Partridge Family paperback book of mine when she was having a clearout recently. Went to see him in London a few years back ... brilliant night but what a lot of sad old women we must have seemed:-) Donny is one of the few men that improve with age and I wouldn't say no to being serenaded by him ... thanks for bringing back some more memories Diane xx

No, I didn't like Donny Osmond ... but my younger sister did. I didn't like the Osmonds either, I preferred the Jackson 5. I saw them at the Liverpool Empire when I was 15 and when Michael was still normal. They were fantastic!I was really into Tamla Motown when I was a teenager.

Oh love the Osmonds and David Cassidy but funnily enough not at the time - I was more of a David Bowie and Alice Cooper fan! I've been to see the Osmonds and David many a time in recent years and one of my favourite past times is singing very loudly and animatedly to their songs.

Btw, I'm your newest follower!

Donny Osmond won Dancing with the Stars last year here in the US and I still hate the judge for it! He sooo didn't deserve to win, but he obviously made them rich with all his many fans texting and calling. I'm sorry, but I think he is such a big JOHNNY 'I love me who do you love?'! His sister would often be sitting in the audience and she also loves herself! The new season has just started and I am voting for Jennifer Grey - she's 'Baby' from Dirty Dancing. She is 50 and looks absolutely amazing and boy she still has the moves. Our female judge said:'some things get better with age and you are definately one of them'! I must admit I am a sloppy person because I did have to cry when they said she made someone up there real proud. Such a shame, I loved Patrick Swazy! Another reason to live life to the max! xx
