When I was a girl

After the disastrous haircut, I did grow it long again, but then in my early twenties, inspired by the Sheena Easton look, I found a better hairdresser than Betty & Frank and went short again. Looking back, this is definitely when I looked my best.
Miss Lovely Legs (but they ought to have been another six inches longer!) And lounging around the pool in heels!.

These were taken in 1983 when I was 23 years old. I would kill for those slender upper arms these days (instead of my "nanan" arms!!) and no "ample" bosom then either!!

And perhaps one of my favourites. Around the same time as I bought this camel coat, the blonde one from Human League wore one in the video for "Don't you want me baby". I think we may have both bought them from the same stall in Sheffield Market!

I loved this coat (and the burgundy boots bought from the famous shoe stall on Barnsley market!). They always say that if you wore something first time around, you shouldn't wear it when it comes back into fashion - and Camel Coats are "back in" for the season. So what should I do? Lets face it, I'm not going to recreate that wonderful slim look this time around, and Camel is almost "Beige" !!

I can't believe I even considered heels for such an icy road either - these days, I'd have my wellies on!

Look at those fantastic legs!!!! WOWee lady!

I love looking at old photos - Can't wait to get my photos out of there boxes.

I tried to leave a comment on your last post, but I'm having terrible trouble with Blogger at the moment - it keeps giving me Service Unavailable messages and deletes everything - argh!

I'd have killed for legs like that - all I had/have was little footballer stumpies !!.. I remember the " beige " coat she wore , you can wear things a second time . I've just got myself a pair of leggings again, although this time I won't be wearing them with Docs or Para boots :-)

What a little hottie your were! :0)

And still are, I'm sure! The thing is, it's good that we have pictures of when we were young, because none of us are ever going to be 18 more than once! Time moves on, and while we need to stay fit an healthy, we all age and that's OK...

Love these pics!

When I was 23 I thought I was too thin, and never wore clothes to show off my figure ... madness!
You had great legs! Old photographs are fantastic, aren't they?

What a stylish woman you were, Diane! And bet you still are :) I don't think it's a trait a person can lose?

Miss Lovely legs indeed - you look very pretty and happy on those photos - in the top one you remind me of a TV actress - can't think of her name at the moment! I enjoyed the last post too - poor you having to have your lovely hair cut short - I hated going to the hairdresser when I was a child it was such a trauma:)

How fabulous you looked!

I too had a camel coat, thought I was just sooo sophisticated. I got it from a catalogue (as you did then).

I'd forgotten about it, so thank you!

This is how I remember you the most. We moved to Holland in 1982, so we didn't see each other a lot after then. That's why I do so love our family blog. I've got to know my (almost long lost) family again and even though I live even further away now in the big old US of A I still feel very much in touch with everyone. Where would be without computers? Un-imaginable.xx
