Cornwall South Coast

We have just returned from our first camping trip of the year so far.  For a change, we decided to check out the south coast of Cornwall instead of the north coast as we usually do. We have had a great time.  Our tents survived the 70 MPH gales that blew around on Thursday night - but we were tucked into a cosy little corner of the Lost Gardens of Heligan and we were very sheltered.

Ive fallen in love with some gorgeous new places.

I shall be showing them to you of course.

But for now, the washing needs tending to!

You can CAMP at Heligan? We went a couple of years ago and I have an almost identical photo of that glasshouse interior. Glad to know you survived the storms and still managed to have a great time.

Heligan is fabulous. Stayed near Mevagissey last October and spent 3 days in Heligan.
Look forward to hearing more about your holiday.

I've got a friend who's been camping in Cornwall this week. We've been concerned about her because the forecasts looked dreadful, so it's nice to know you've come through unscathed. Looking forward to your next posts, I haven't been to Cornwall for years! I used to spend my childhood holidays there.

What lovely photos, so like you had a great time I know it's hard to sleep in a tent when the wind is blowing.

I thought that you might be away.. I'm glad that you've had a great time and that the weather didn't spoil things. Did you visit Fowey? The family of one of my Uni friends had a holiday home and a boat there. We spent many fantastic summers messing about on the water! Jx

You sure did see some pretty places. You are tough seeing out a gale in a tent.

What no St Ives?
Actually there are some beautiful undiscovered places which I am preferring. We love Heligan, I think we'd visit every year if we could!

More lovely photos. It looks wonderful and I want to go there now! We used to go on holiday to Cornwall each year when I was at high school. Back then I lived 100 miles further away than I do now, it used to take us 14 hours by car to get there. We always stayed at Perranporth but I've visited most of the county during the fortnights we were there over the years. I'd imagine it's much busier now than it used to be.
