But you knew that already. We are back from St Ives where we have re-defined the family British seaside holiday for a family whose children are now 20 and 17 years old. Less crabbing and sandcastle building, but far more cocktails! Just a few of the things I love about this little town that has been our special family holiday destination for the last 16 years are...
We counted five on our first day - the baby one is particularly playful.
I love the flowers - Giant Agapanthus are my absolute favourite.
The fabulous view from the campsite. We booked late and could only get the worst pitch, but on arrival we talked them into letting us pitch in their spare field - away from everyone else and their blaring radios and the absolutely best spot ever. A great place to wake up every morning.
I love the art that is every where in St Ives - inspiring.
The sunsets on Porthmeor Beach are worth saluting with a glass of wine each night.
I love the way that you can walk to a different beach every day, The town has at least 5 beaches (and a couple of little coves at low tide) - all very different and all very lovely.
No - I don't like the seagulls! But I love the blue sky.
I could go on and on.

I'm so jealous! Especially of the seals. I would have been so excited to see them!

I'm jealous. You take such lovely photos, and they make me want to visit the country in which you live more and more and more!! :D :D
Hi Diane,
We went to Gwithian last year on holiday with our son 21 and daughter 19 and their partners, and loved the area despite the weather not being very good. What a fantastic place to have visited for 16 years and what a view from your tent! We have been very wary of seagulls since one took an ice-cream out of my husbands hand as we were admiring the view from the harbour in St Ives. Glad you had a great time.
