Hubby chose today's walk. He wanted a good long walk across Burbage Moor from Ringinglow to Foxhouse. So off we went. 17 degrees showing in the car! Wow! Tee shirts on! Sun in the Blue sky.
You get great views down into the city. But, we hadn't reckoned on how windy it was! So windy that at one point, I couldn't even stand still without it blowing me over!
So we dodged into the Pine plantation where it was a little more sheltered.
Until we heard one or two trees cracking!! So we exited swiftly.
We did venture a little further over the moor before being defeated and turning back to head somewhere less exposed.
Shame because it really is lovely up here - so wild and beautiful.
And can you believe - still plenty of snow to be found!

wild and beautiful it is, but I wouldn't want to be there on a day like today either! The wind is howling!
It is very beautiful up there. But it's been sooooo windy today, walking down the road to swimming was hard enough, we were bent double! Certainly blew the cobwebs out! xxxx
Looks like a 'bracing' walk - and in my mum's words after all that fresh air 'I'll bet you sleep well tonight!' Jane x
I can certainly believe there's still snow because it's on Blackamoor too in little patches. It's lovely over Ringinglow but not a place to be in strong winds. You'll have to try again when it's a bit calmer.
Wasn't it wild today?! We passed Stanage and into Ringlinglow today but I will admit we were in the car hehe! Looks like you had a fab time x
It does look wild and wonderful! The wind today has been whipping around the garden and blowing things all over the place. The trees all looked as if they were in a dance class!:)
Looks a wonderful place. And yes, it was VERY windy, I nearly got blown over and I was only in our Park, not up a hill!
Diane, Leek Market is there on a Wednesday as well - food and stuff as well as "antiques". Its a good town for a wander, as well, lots of interesting bits and pieces to photograph !!
Probably the wrong kind of landscape but all the wild and windy weather made me think of Wuthering Heights!

It reminds me of the area round Top Withens on Haworth Moor.
