Good Vibrations

One of the best value tickets in town for me is the "Take Two" offer at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield.  For £32 you get 2 cinema tickets, 2 of the most gorgeous meals ever and a bottle of wine.   I have bought vouchers for this for gifts for friends and we have taken to treating ourselves to them too as the Showroom has a great atmosphere and very comfy cinema seats.  Last night we went to see the brilliant film "Good Vibrations" which is a true story about  Terri Hooley who championed the Punk movement in Northern Ireland in the late 70's early 80's.  We loved the film and it really made me think about how life would have been so different for kids my age growing up in such troubled times.  The soundtrack was great too.

After our beautiful meal - I had Pork, hubby had Steak (most of the products locally sourced too), we had a wander around the city.  I thought this would make you laugh.  I had to say that the guy in heels walked better in them than I could have! And I have to add that the "Rocky Horror" show was showing at the Lyceum!

People always dress as the characters from Rocky Horror when they go to see it. They do the same over here. And that movie, Good Vibrations, any good? Because if it's about punk music, it sounds good. I never knew that the Punk movement was from England. Wow. That time created one of my fave punk bands, The Clash

Oh my goodness! Love the heels! Reminds me of the time I went to sing-a-long Sound of Music, only the men were dressed as nuns and nazis!
We never get to the cinema. Mr B. hates going so I have to wait for when my daughter is home.

Hahaha, too busy chortling at Hippiegirl's comment about not knowing punk originated in the UK!
Your food looks delicious, that Showroom deal is great.
The guy in the little gold hot pants makes me smile too! xxxx

I love all those old buildings you took pictures of and what a great deal for the movie and dinner. We don't have anything like that around here. Our movie theaters don't usually have restaurants. I would have to take out insurance if I tried to walk in heels these days. Fun last photo!
