Bank Holiday Weekend

We liked Worcester - it is a gorgeous little city.  We looked around the Cathedral and took a walk along the river side.  The people who lived along the riverside were still drying out after the winter floods.

We both loved this Millenium etched window in the Cathedral.

We also liked Droitwich Spa - such an interesting little town with a lot of history.
The town has Saline springs underneath it which were mined for salt - a very important commodity.
Alot of the very old buildings remain in the town centre and it has a lovely higgledy piggledy feel.
But I think the favourite bit of the weekend was wandering around the grounds and gardens of Hanbury Hall - a national trust property near Droitwich.
It's lovely to see the colour back in gardens.
And the leaves back on the trees
And the blossoms in full bloom

And the bunnies back out on the lawns

I liked seeing the dairy as it was....
.. and how they are hoping to restore it.
We loved the views from up by the church.

I was a tad scared by the swarm of bees though!!

What great photos. It's time I went to Worcestershire again, DH goes there several times every summer to watch cricket so I might just go with him later this year. He can watch cricket and I can explore:)

It's a long time since I visited Worcester although we've been into other parts of the county more often recently. We see the city often on our local West Midlands news especially during the floods and usually say we must visit again one day. Looks like you had a great time:)

You found some beautiful highlights of the city whilst you were away. I love that snap of the auricula. And the bunny, too cute.
