The Clare White Gallery

If you are in South Yorkshire, but you long to be in Cornwall, I insist you visit the Clare White Gallery at Elsecar Heritage Centre. Honestly, its a great way to get your Cornish "fix". I went along on Saturday as they had an evening previewing a new jewellery collection. The artwork is stunning and original and I wish I could own every piece. Most of the art work comes from Cornwall, especially St Ives.

They also have a great selection of individual hand made crafts, almost all of them made locally.

Its a brilliant little gallery. Whilst you get lots of these sort of places around St Ives, you don't get many in South Yorkshire - its a real little gem.
I insist you pencil in a visit!

Also having an open evening was the great new deli next door. It was far too busy to take a photo inside, but I can vouch that the food was delicious and I will be giving this another try in the very near future (purely for bloggy research you understand!!)

Its great to see more of these fabulous and individual places opening up at Elsecar Heritage Centre. Its such a lovely little place.

You find some amazing places Diane local to where you live, although I too love Cornwall and would love to own a little cottage there overlooking the sea – didn’t win the lottery again last night!! This little gallery looks great and I love the tiny row of cottages by Victor Stuart-Graham, behind the collage heart.

Fabulous place Elsecar, I enjoy a good rummage around the collectors fayres they have. Steam weekends and the occasional brass band too - it's a miniature Wentworth!

It's lovely that these sort of places are opening up in South Yorkshire. As you say, there's lots of them in Cornwall. Nice to have a new deli next door too, a perfect trip.

How lovely to see Cornish beach scenes on a cold, wet and windy February morning. It looks a super gallery. The list of places I want to see when we eventually get over to your area is growing so long we may have to stay several days:)

Cornwall is on my list of places to visit so I am inspired, both to get myself there and to visit your lovely Yorkshire gallery. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Haven't been to the Heritage Centre for years, it looks as though it's coming up in the world and is worth another visit this spring. I think they used to have living history events there too, wonder if they still do?

This is not fair! Now you're making me long for Cornwall.

Nope, didn't have a Tressy. I never had a Barbie either because Mum said she was too ugly, lol! I had a Cindy with a pretty face, they don't make them like that anymore!

I,ve been to Elsecar Heritage Park A couple of years ago & I was impressed with what they had done to the old place, beautiful craft shops, & those paintings were inspiring.

I've got a serious case of wanting that beach painting shown in your second photo :0)
I would never be allowed to take my credit card into a gallery like that - the other half would not be pleased - hee hee!

PS - we viewed a stunning house this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed for me that the other half thinks so too and puts an offer on it very soon, before we lose yet another house.

I haven't been to the Elsecar centre for ages - and even longer since I've been to Cornwall.

Must pay it a visit soon, thanks for reminding me.
