I knew I would get addicted to creating these. Ive been using the elongated Tilda heart shape template from the book I bought at the Manchester stitchcraft show.
I created this Victorian style heart using mainly recycled materials. The crushed velvet bow was wrapped around a pair of PJ's that I bought my daughter at Christmas. I dyed the fabrics, lace and ribbon with blackberries.
Daisies are so easy to embroider - you don't have to be a very neat embroiderer to get a good effect.

Oh my Diane! You have grabbed me here. I need to make a heart, they are gorgeous.
Just the ticket for a dull northern day.
I will go on a lady shop for the materials!
These hearts are lovely with my favourite being the first one. It's nice that you used natural dyes.

My fav is the blackberry dyes one, then the daisy, and then the buttons.

Ah! I used the same shape to make one (just ONE!) for my Mum's birthday and it wasn't half as prettily ornate as yours!
I love the Victorian style heart, it's so pretty and such gorgeous colours. How adventurous of you to dye things using blackberries. Natural dyeing has always interested me but I've never actually tried doing it.

I'm impressed with the colour you produced from the blackberries - that tip might come in useful if I run out of magenta paint!
You clever crafty person. Cover one with heart shapes.

Diane these are so lovely. Love the use of the crushed velvet bow !
Diane you are amazing at creating art. I love how you took buttons that have little use and put them on a fabric heart and by doing this you created a work of art.
