One Man in My Heart
I have to say that last nights concert by the Human League at Sheffield City Hall was utterly fantastic. They all still look and sound as amazing as ever. The music does not sound dated, it still sounds very very current.
The audience loved it - for a while, it was the late 1970's and we danced like we had no cares, worries or responsibilities and had a ball. And I have to say that Mr Oakey may have lost his trade mark fringe, but he is still a very trim, uber fashionable tasty geezer (who can still be spotted shopping around Sheffield if you know where to look!!). And the girls, who must be 50 by now, looked exactly the same as they did back in the day!

That's the funny thing. Some guys, when they get older, they still look amazingly sexy. Others, somehow, look like the old age truck ran over them and backed over them. Repeatedly, lol. But it's all a matter of what you define as beauty. :D
Sounds like you had fun. :D.
Sounds wonderful Diane - wish I'd been there with you all, dancing the night away! x
I really did love them in the 80's, I had no idea they still did concerts! Lucky you! I'd love to see them!
I'm disappointed to have missed them, I love the Human League. I think I saw that Heaven 17 are playing, or have I missed that too? I am determined to go and see more live music next year, having enjoyed Squeeze so much. xxx
Don't you want me baby, dont you want me oh oh..... off to dance in my white stilettos and pretend I'm at the Top Rank!

Who ever said men aged better than women got that totally wrong. Women are MUCH better, Joanna Lumley or Helen Mirren look so much nicer than any man I can think of ten or fifteen years younger than them. I think men once they get to the forties if not earlier, get fat, grey and bald. They all look the same and that isn't very nice. I am forty eight and single. I find men my age and quite a bit younger really very unattractive - so much so I feel sory with women who are married and have to wake up to such things. (I wouldn't mind but they are pretty dull and boring too, so they are pretty grotty all round). I'm not at all interested in younger men as that would just be wrong. So few men look as nature intended, they haven't looked after themselves. I don't even like George Clooney or Brad Pitt. Occasionally you do see a fit and attractive man and I do wonder why they can't all take just a little bit more time and trouble, the way women do. They are incredibly rare though.
My once very attractive husband is not so at all any more. He is only bald and grey though, not fat. Why is it OK for men to be grey and not women? I don't think they tend to look nice at all. The grey haired women you do see, often have lovely glossy shiny hair which has been nicely cut. Men tend to be unkempt and mucky.
I would rather cruise through what life I have left without such things joined to me at the hip. I shudder at the thought.
The last time I saw the single from the Human League he was looking pretty grim. I used to like them when I was younger. I can well believe though that the women still look pretty.
Wish I could have been with you :-) t'other Diane
Oh Wow! My very first album that I bought out of hard earned pocket money, £1.50 a week, I am sure the album was best part of a fiver, was Human League Dare, at the age of 15.
What an amazing evening it must have been, images of nightclubs that have long since gone are floating through my mind, with white stilletoes and white handbags in the middle of the group young girls are dancing... "Don't you want me baby.... don't you want me awww, aawww " Great fun, feel old now, but young all at the same time.
I loved the 80's and Dare was never off my turntable....remember turn tables? X
Sounds like you had a wonderful night, brings back lots of memories.
We had a wonderful night!! I was that 14 year old again....and did not give a hoot if I was showing myself up or not!
Love live music!
Ooh, I love me a bit of Human League, I bet it was a great night!
