The young man and I found ourselves at a loss for what to do on a perfect Saturday morning, and so we went to Cannon Hall near Barnsley. I took you here in spring, just before the museum opened for the season. We got here a bit late, it seems to now be closed again (apart from a few Christmas Events).
A few strange insects appear to have invaded the grounds.
And I could only peer through the gates into the vegetable patch.
Miraculously, some trees have managed to cling on to their foliage inspite of the gales last week
Whilst others are now stripped bare.
The geese were very hungry and mobbed anyone who remotely looked like they may have bread - a bit scarey!
We had a good long walk through the parkland.
This is a bit early!
I hope you enjoyed our walk.

Yes I enjoyed it immensely. You see, it's still raining pots and buckets here, and it's stormy so that bins have become umbrella graveyards!
That was a lovely walk! Thank you! Geese can be quite scarey actually!
We spend so much time at this lovely place I'm surprised we didn't see you there :) you should have called in for a cup of tea,as we're just up the road

I love coming along on your outings, Diane! Isn't the gate to the vegetable garden beautiful? And how fortunate you were to have a bright sunny day - our weekend has been cold, cloudy and now very wet!
Thank you for your kind words about our special news :-)

Oh I do love that gate, such a fab design but can you imagine looking out of your window and seeing insects that size on your lawn? Eeuugh xx
We were going to go walking there today but got no further than my Mums house (she lives just around the corner), but Canon Hall and the park is lovely.

What lovely photos -- and you had sunshine! I've just been out in our garden to see if I could find a spot of colour amid the gloom.
I once got badly lost trying to find Cannon Hall when we lived in Hebden Bridge, so I've never actually been there, though not for want of trying.

Another lovely walk with you - I would give those Geese a wide berth too !
Bright winters day walks are good for clearing the cobwebs.

Thanks for sharing your walk. I feel almost as though I joined you! Love the insects. Hope you have a good week. Ros
thanks for that I needed some fresh air today x
Yes, I did, indeed, enjoy this walk. You know, if I could find insects like that I'd buy them for my back yard garden! Love, love, love them!
What a lovely walk. My parents had 3 geese at one time they could be quite ferocious :-( Diane
Looks like a lovely walk - geese can be a bit scary - especially the white ones - the ones I call farmyard geese; we were approached rather firmly by a gaggle of those on a walk not so long ago. I like the insect sculptures and the gate to the vegetable garden is lovely - hope you eventually get inside the museum:)
..re to your comment..I think you should focusing on a different kind of wildlife! :)
..what will people think of me if I'd post such indecent pictures?! Ha ha!
I'd love to exchange your place for mine..even for men!
