It was W.I. night last night - very interesting talk by the local
RSPB man on "Birdsong". But I digress. Whilst waiting for the Slimmers World class to finish, my friend and I popped into the library room that is also set up in the community hall. The librarian was closing the shelves up for the evening and we noticed that on the back of the shelves were photographs taken in our village a long time ago. I'll show you the village scenes later, but I thought you might like to see the village school photos (and I'm not on them before you ask!!!).
My friend who is in her seventies, was absolutely delighted to find this photo. The tallest boy in the school - in the middle at the back - is her father.
I remember her dad and he was very tall. They were so smart! Ive made her a few copies for a

and I thought it would make a lovely card for her too. (Poor photo - we have had NO light at all today).
And just for Clare, this is my card making table. Fairly tidy for me actually!

Sounds exactly like Mr.Lane! and he thinks I don't know bless! I shall be glad when it's finnished too! But my heart will swell with foolish pride IF we win!

What a lovely story .. fancy finding a random photo of your father when you're just passing through. The card is a lovely idea ... I'm glad to see it's not just me who makes a mess when I'm working.
I'd love to join the W.I. but our local meetings are all in the daytime when I'm at work!

What a lovely thing to do Diane ... she will be thrilled to bits. Aren't those old classrooms fascinating ... did you happen to watch the new Just William programmes last week? The classroom that they used is in the old school in the next town to me - it's now a museum. x
I love old photos and its even better when you spot people you know.
I have 2 desks - both are extremely messy today - one from card making and the other from sewing.
Heehee but is all still there, the mess I mean? Mine is!!!
I'm sat in the same place with all my patchwork parafanalia (cant spell that!)
I'm rather excited about March, I shall keep that date free.
I'm thinking lots of sun, tea and cakes!!!

I love seeing old photographs especially of places I know well. I'm sure your friend will be delighted to have her own copy of the photo with her dad on it.
I can look at old photos for ages - what a lovely and thoughful idea to make one of your super cards for your friend. I bet she'll be thrilled:)

Your friend will be stunned I'm sure. The children look so well behaved & I just love the girls' pinafores & long ringlets. Reminds me of photos of my grandmother - lovely
